Suspect flushed from swamp

KENDALLVILLE — A Kentucky man who fled police and hid in a swamp after allegedly burglarizing a Rimmel Road residence Friday morning was flushed out by county police and arrested within a few hours, according to a report from the Noble County Sheriff’s Department.

With spring and summer on the horizon, it is time that communities begin
thinking about summer festivals, fairs and events. What wonderful memories
we all have about summer festivals. However, the memories that most of us
have from 25 years ago (or more) are totally different than the memories
that our children will have. One of the key differences – the presence of
alcohol!

The generous arm of the law

KENDALLVILLE – It was giving at its best.
The Noble County Law Enforcement Association brought some Christmas cheer to 26 area elementary students Tuesday night with its Cop Shop program. The 26 students, representing the county’s 13 elementary schools, were given approximately $200 each to spend on toys, food and groceries at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Kendallville.

Cordenas is the 24-year-old alleged gang member whose Aug. 11 arrest in Hollywood has been featured on news programs and the Internet. The arrest made by the Los Angeles Police Department was videotaped and put up on the Internet site YouTube.
